Spring Assessments
Starting the end of April, students will be taking the end of the year tests.  It is important that students are rested and at school when the tests are given so they can do their best and don't have to make them up later.  We try to break these up so students have an hour or less of testing each day. They following test dates are planned:

3rd grade - April 30, May 4, 8, 14, 20, 22, and 27
4th grade - April 29, May 4, 13, 14, 20, 22, and 27
5th grade - April 29, 30, May 13, 15, 20, 22, and 27

Earth Day at Prairie View

Our school will be celebrating Earth Day next week.   Students will have the opportunity to go to a variety of 45 minute sectionals on ways that we can protect and enhance our Earth such as recycling, planting, and understanding food webs.

As part of our effort to reuse and recycle, we will be holding a school rummage sale.  Students may bring in gently used books, toys, games, etc. that will be resold to other students who may appreciate something new to them at a very reasonable price.  We will be using the money raised to add to our fund for the new slide we plan to purchase and install this summer.  A few students have asked if they can make craft items to sell, and that’s fine as well.

So . . . if you’d like to help us “go green” by donating items for our rummage sale, please send them to school either Monday or Tuesday of next week.  Your child may want to bring a little money on Wednesday to purchase a secondhand item or craft.  Most items will cost $1 or less.

Please remember that students are not to come to school early.  If students want to stop for  breakfast, it starts at 7:45 at Meadowlark and playground supervision begins at 8:00.  The shuttle bus to Prairie View leaves Meadowlark at 8:10.  Playground supervision also begins at 8:00 at Prairie View.

Walk and Wheel Wednesday -  Walk and Wheel Wednesday is back!!  Starting Wednesday, March 25 students are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school each Wednesday.  Names will be drawn from those who walk or ride for prizes each week.  Remember bus students can be dropped off at the walking path so they can participate too.
